Terms Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  • Our affiliates include companies with the Michigan First name.
Non-affiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  • Michigan First Credit Union does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you.
Joint marketing A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
  • Our joint marketing partners may include insurance companies, securities brokers, and membership rewards providers.

Data-Sharing Opt-Out

Michigan First Credit Union and its affiliates — Michigan First Mortgage and Michigan First Insurance Agency — share personal information with each other for business purposes. Federal law gives you the right to opt-out of your information being shared between these companies. Please fill out and submit the form below if you would like to opt-out of data sharing.     Privacy and our website

    Visitors to Michigan First Mortgage’s websites will remain anonymous prior to logging in or entering information into any forms. We do not collect personal identifying information about visitors to our websites prior to login or form completion. Our servers collect standard non-identifying information about visits to our websites, such as date and time visited, IP address, city, state, country and traffic patterns of page visits. This information is used to compile standard statistics on website usage and traffic patterns.

    If you have provided identifying information via e-mail or form (e.g., name and address), your information will not be sold and may only be transferred to third parties if it directly relates to a product or service you use that is contracted through one of our joint partnerships (i.e. our credit card vendor, mortgage provider, etc.). We may also use the information for internal statistical purposes or to send you communications about products and services you have requested or may have potential interest in.

    Michigan First uses Google Analytics, a service that uses “cookies” to track anonymous information regarding your activities on our website. This data is used to better understand how visitors access our website and provide a better overall user experience.
